Justification

God declared me righteous at faith - before my obedience caught up.

• The tax collector went home justified - humility before God, not self-promotion, is what Jesus commended.
• Level 1: God declared the humble man right with Him - the proud man who bragged about his good deeds did not.
• Level 2: God declared the humble tax collector right with Him - the proud man who listed his deeds did not go home justified, like empty hands versus a trophy speech.
• Level 3: Justification is God's declarative yes on the humble - boasting about deeds did not buy the verdict, because the court measures trust, not performance.
• Level 4: Come to God with empty hands and receive the justified verdict - not a resume of religious performance.
• Level 5: Free Grace applies justification to eternal life; Sanctification is the walk after - do not merge the categories.

  But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. • Paul names the verdict - justified as a gift by grace, Christ's redemption, not my performance.

  Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,Romans 4:4-5 NASB1995

• Faith credited as righteousness for the one who believes, not the one who works the room.

  Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.Romans 5:1-2 NASB1995

• Justified by faith, peace with God - the case closed at trust, not at perfect obedience.
• Free Grace names the gift; justification names the legal move: guilty sinner, faith in Christ, declared not guilty - Christ's record credited to me.
• Same shape as Minimum Effective Dose: one sufficient act at the start, not a lifetime of merit stacked before God says yes.
• Standing vs Fellowship keeps the verdict separate from daily closeness - confession restores fellowship, it does not re-buy heaven.
• Sanctification is what comes after - becoming holy over time.
• Eternal Rewards is what the Father pays faithful living after.
• None of those three re-open the case justification closed.

Examples

• My kid asked if God likes him yet - I said God already declared him righteous the moment he trusted Christ, not when his room got clean.
• I snapped at the cashier and felt like I was back on probation with God - justification means my standing was settled at faith; confession restores fellowship, it does not re-buy heaven.
