I’m Jonathan Rapusas, a front-end developer based in Metro Manila. Only open to remote work.

Most of my career has been in international, multicultural settings - working with colleagues and stakeholders in Australia, the U.S., and across Asia. Different time zones, accents, and working styles are normal for me. I communicate in plain English and I’m used to remote collaboration long before it became the default.

Since 2013 I’ve freelanced on Linux hosting, websites, and business email; WordPress builds and theme work; static sites with Hugo; hosting and CMS migrations; core and plugin updates; and training clients to run what we ship.

Before that I built and supported in-house PHP web systems in that same international mix - gathering requirements, triaging bugs, user support and administration, Git deployments, and helping teams test what shipped.

I’ve led intranet web development: training catalogs, enrollment systems, evaluation tools, job vacancy apps, and content-managed sites. I supervised a small web team - hiring, training, and day-to-day delivery.

I’ve also spent a lot of time teaching in multicultural classrooms and video conference rooms - course curriculum and manuals, sessions on Office, Project, web tools, and design software, post-training support by remote access, email, and phone, plus undergraduate and professional programming courses and seminars on open-source technology and web careers.

I studied Applied Mathematics at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (BS, 2001) and completed a Graduate Diploma in Computer Science there in 2003.
